NEVER talk to strangers online.
NEVER. Really. You can make a best friend online -
think it's a 12 year old girl - and later find out that it's a
grown-up. Ew! |

passwords to anyone but your parents... Not even to your best
friend. |

NEVER tell anyone online your
full name, home address (not even what city you live in), where
you go to school or where you go to church without your parent's
permission. |

Don't tell anyone your age! You
don't want strangers to know you are a kid. |

Never post personal information about
yourself anywhere online (see info above). Even if you
think a place like Facebook is private, IT ISN'T! |

Be careful what email address and screen
names you make for yourself. A common mistake is to put
your name or birth year in it. This gives people too much
information about you! |

Never share photos of yourself,
your family, or your home with people you meet online. |

Never open e-mail attachments
from someone you don't know. |

If someone says something to
you online or posts something that
makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, don't respond. Tell a
grown-up right away! |

Always tell a parent about any
threatening, bullying or bad language you see online. |

Never say you'll meet someone
in person without asking your parent's permission first. |

Never give out your phone number or
arrange a phone call with someone you meet online. |

someone you don't know. |

accept things from strangers (e-mail, files, Web page
addresses). |

Be careful what websites you visit!
Some websites, especially game sites, have content that isn't
safe for kids. Also, I lot of websites have bad ads.
Lazy webmasters don't check the ads ahead of time and will just
let whatever be on their sites. If you want to check out a
new website, have your parents take a look at it first to make
sure both the games and the ads are OK. |

Never be rude or mean online
- anywhere - not even in an email. Emails can be
forwarded! A good way
to think of this is: Never say anything to anyone online that
you wouldn't say to his or her face. |
